This week is one of my favorites but not really a big favorite in my household. This would be great for a picnic or potluck.
- 3 cups shredded cabbage
- 1/2 cup diced red bell pepper
- 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1 tsp celery seed
In a large bowl, combine cabbage and bell peppers. In a small bowl, combine salt, sugar and vinegar; pour over cabbage mixture. Sprinkle top with celery seed and chill for at least one hour before serving. This is also known as Pennsylvania Pepper Cabbage. This recipe comes from Pennsylvania Cook Book.
