December 1st

I just can’t believe that it’s December 1st.  However pushing past that fact I’ve been thinking a lot about Christmases past.  I admit to getting swept up in the gift buying, wanting to get my children more than they really need or probably even want.  So I have been thinking about what do I remember from my childhood about Christmas.  Yes I can remember a few select gifts that I got over the years: my cabbage patch girl, a barbie chevy convertible, a rock tumbler but I remember more the things we did during December and for Chirstmas.  Things like carolling, an advent calendar, the whole big family getting together and dinner.  I want to try and shift the focus from things to special times together.  Years from now, they are so much more likely to remember what we did and not what they received.
