Fudge and Milk

Oh what a great day to celebrate to of my favorite things: National Fudge Day and Got Milk Day.  Can you think of a better combo?  In honor of National Fudge Day I am sharing (or am I resharing?) my favorite fudge recipe.  This is courtsey of those wonderful people of the Hershey Kitchen.

Creamy Double Decker Fudge

  • 1 cup Reese’s Peanut Butter Chips
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk, divided
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup Hershey’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Line an 8-inch square pan with foil; set aside.  In a small microwave-sfe bowl, place peanut butter chips and 2/3 cup of sweetened condensed milk.  Microwave at high 1-1 1/2 minutes stirring after 1 minute until chips are melted and mixture is smooth when stirred.  Stir in 1/2 tsp. vanilla; spread evenly into prepared pan.  In small microwave-safe bowl place remaining sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips; repeat above microwave procedure.  Stir in remaining 1/2 tsp vanilla;  spread evenly over peanut butter layer.  Cover; refrigerate until firm.  Cut into 1″ squares.  Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator.

This fudge is just delicious!  Now I have been know to make all peanut butter and all chocolate fudge based on this recipe.  So go and make yourself something sweet and chase it down with some good cold milk!
