From the pantry-A different kind of Chicken Casserole

I’ve been wanting to get back to sharing recipes so hopefully since I’ve been doing well with a Friday posting I can start doing this regularly on Tuesdays.  This recipe was a big hit with the kids (so much so there wasn’t any left when I got home to take a picture of).  I got this recipe from Favorite recipes from Quilters but I changed it a bit.

Chicken Au Gratin Casserole

  • 1 quart green beans
  • 1 cup diced, cooked chicken
  • 10.75 oz can cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Nature’s seasons
  • 2 cups soft bread cubes
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 2.5 cup grated cheese,divided  (I used a colby montery jack mix)

Place green beans and chicken in a casserole dish.

In a saucepan combine soup and water and heat to a boiling.  Pour over chicken and green beans.  Season with Nature’s Seasons (or salt and pepper or favorite seasoning).  Sprinkle with 2 cups of cheese.

Combine bread cubes, butter and remaining cheese.  Toss lightly and sprinkle on top.  Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until brown.
