Last weekend our local co-op hosted a history fair. Despite the low turn, we had a really good time. The kids were very excited about their projects which included: the atomic bomb, pearl harbor, George Washingtion, Pirates and the 7 days of creations. Now original the plan was for 3 children to do this event. Then numbers 4 and 5 wanted to participate. Dozer was easy to figure out a project, he’s doing a Treasure Island class for co-op so I just went with pirates. However, Short Round was a different story. It was an “eleventh hour” project but he was thrilled with it.
The other 2 did do projects I just somehow managed to not get sharable pictures. Everyone that participated had wonderful displays. Other topics included: Chocolate, The Wizard of Oz (yes, it was applied to history and quite fascinating), Disney/Mickey Mouse, and pyramids. I’m glad we participated and I think it was a good experience for us. I hope we can do it again.
